Nancy Summer of Virginia had about 1 minute to cross the finish line before the 17 hour cut off. You could hear the crowd screaming encouragements to her. She missed it by 4 seconds! But you know what? People will remember only two racers that day; Crowie who won and Nancy who proved you don't have to finish within 17 hours to be called an Ironman...Way to go Nancy!
